Rosemary Black Pepper Butter (Makes ~2 cups)

Prep Time: 20–25 minutes

Cost: Approximately $6–$7 total

Ingredients

  • 32 oz (4 cups) heavy whipping cream (~2 pints)

  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the Butter

  1. Pour the 32 oz cream into a stand mixer or food processor.

Ayurvedic Dosha Notes

This butter is rich, warming, and grounding — great for Vata and Pitta, but Kapha must enjoy in moderation.

Vata

  • Creamy, nourishing, and grounding

  • Rosemary adds gentle warming stimulation
    No modifications needed.

Pitta

  • Butter is cooling; black pepper adds mild stimulation
    Pitta modifications:

  • Use smaller amounts if sensitive to spice

  • Unsalted or lightly salted butter works best

Kapha

  • Butter is very heavy → limit serving to ½ tablespoon per person

  • Pair with warm, light foods: roasted vegetables, baked salmon, steamed grains

  • Slight warming before serving helps digestion

  • Optionally, blend with ½ coconut oil to reduce heaviness

Serving Tips

  • Spread on warm bread, bagels, or homemade tortillas.

  • Melt over vegetables, potatoes, or grilled proteins.

  • Roll into a log, slice, and freeze for convenience.
